BEd Qualification Restored for CTET 2026: Eligibility Expanded for Primary & Junior Levels

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 has introduced a significant update for teaching aspirants across India. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has officially restored the BEd qualification for both Primary (Class 1–5) and Junior (Class 6–8) levels, allowing BEd holders to apply for either paper. This major reform widens career opportunities for lakhs of candidates preparing for government school teaching jobs.

With the BEd eligibility now reinstated, aspirants with a Bachelor of Education degree can participate in both CTET levels, enhancing their chances in future teacher recruitment processes.

CTET 2026 Registration Begins — Apply Till December 18, 2025

The CTET February 2026 registration process is now live on the official website: ctet.nic.in.
Candidates must complete their application form and pay the exam fee before December 18, 2025 (11:59 pm).
